Restore Work Item Branch

Restore the branch behind a Work Item when you need to bring its changes back into an active state.

Try it in Serpent

Every Work Item is backed by a branch that holds its changes. If a Work Item's branch has been closed or removed, restoring it brings those changes back so you can continue or re-review the work.

When to restore a branch

  • A Work Item was closed but its change is needed again.
  • You need to reopen work that was set aside.
  • You want to recover the changes captured on the Work Item's branch.

Restore it in Serpent

Open the Work Items board with the "Try it in Serpent" button above, then:

  1. Find the Work Item

    Locate the Work Item whose branch was closed or removed.

  2. Restore its branch

    Restore the branch to bring its committed changes back into an active state.

  3. Continue the work

    Pick the work up where it left off, ready to continue or re-review.
