The Serpent VS Code extension, listed on the marketplace as Serpent - Salesforce DevOps, brings your Serpent projects into VS Code, so developers who prefer working in their editor can pick up work, deploy, and authenticate orgs without switching to the web app for every step.
Install the extension
Add the extension to VS Code from the marketplace (publisher Tekunda), then sign in with your Serpent account from the sidebar to connect it to your workspace and projects.
What you can do from the editor
A dedicated sidebar gives you an Overview, your current task, your current project, and a workspaces tree. From there you can:
- Create and pick up a task, and see its latest action without leaving the editor.
- Deploy to an org or pull changes from one, keeping your local source in sync with Serpent.
- Authenticate an org, and set a default org or Dev Hub for the project.
- Create and open a scratch org.
- Execute Apex directly from a file's editor context menu.
- Run an automation flow.
Stay in your editor for day-to-day development while Serpent handles delivery.
